Info-beamer hosted OS 12 released

A new release of the info-beamer OS is now available in the stable channel. Check out the announcement blog post.

An updated OS 12 release (210521-20ef1a) is now available. It includes the following changes:

  • In rare cases the info-beamer processes would not restart correctly on Pi4 devices. This has been fixed.

  • A new EEPROM firmware (Apr 29 2021) will be applied to Pi4s. This change includes a fix that might prevent older Pi4 revisions from booting. This change should hopefully fix this issue.

  • Automatically enables Peer-to-Peer (P2P) if a sufficiently powerful devices (basically anything except the Pi1 / Pi Zero) is detected during system initialization. Existing devices will not be affected. See also the previous announcement.

  • The P2P feature can now identify other devices of the same device owner within the same network. This can be used in the future to build video wall synchronization that does not necessarily require a correct system time. It will also enable scheduled video wall content once packages are updated.

  • Any of your local P2P enabled devices can now act as a second factor during the info-beamer.com login.
